The Field — Privacy Policy

Effective August 24, 2026

What The Field is

The Field is a customer-relationship tool for outreach work: schools and organizations, the people at them, visits, events, and email campaigns. Each user works in their own private workspace.

What we store

The records you create or import: organizations, contacts, notes, visit reports, events, RSVPs, campaigns, and which of your emails were opened or clicked. Your workspace is yours: other users cannot read it, and internal notes are never sent to, shared with, or visible to your contacts.

We also keep a simple count of which tabs you open, stored only in your workspace, used only to pick your start page and rank your search results.

If you connect an email account

Connecting Gmail asks Google for exactly one ability: sending email as you (the gmail.send permission). The Field cannot read, search, delete, or organize your mailbox — the permission it requests does not allow that. It sends only messages you compose or schedule in the app, each one recorded where you can see it.

The sign-in token Google issues is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and is never shown to anyone — including you — after the moment you connect. Disconnecting in Settings deletes it immediately; you can also revoke The Field entirely at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Google API data is used only as described here, and its handling conforms to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your data — or your contacts' data — to train AI models. AI features run only when you ask, only over your own workspace.

Public pages

Event invitation links and QR sign-up pages are reachable without an account, on purpose — they show only that one event's public details and collect only what the person signing up types (a name; email and phone optional).

Deleting your data

Deleting a record deletes it. Removing a team member ends their access. To delete a whole workspace, contact the administrator who invited you, or the address below.
